Industrial Equipment Moving

Your equipment is valuable. Your margins are tight. And your install window? Non-negotiable.
Millwright Services / Industrial Equipment Moving
When it comes to moving industrial equipment, there’s no room for dropped loads, damaged skids, or missed alignments.

At Tillson Industrial, we coordinate the full scope of equipment transport and provide boots-on-the-ground mechanical support during offload, placement, and tie-in—so your gear gets set right, the first time.

What We Do

We manage the last mile of mechanical delivery for heavy, sensitive, and high-value equipment. From road haul coordination to final base bolt torque, our crews handle the transition from “in transit” to “ready to run.”

Our scope includes:

  • Subcontractor coordination for heavy transport and crane work
  • Lift plan review and rigging walkdowns
  • Equipment receiving and inspection at site
  • Mechanical offload and precise placement
  • Anchor bolt layout and base setting
  • Final positioning and shaft alignment
  • Tie-in support and startup prep

Whether it’s a 20-ton compressor, a 10-foot fan skid, or a motor-generator package arriving on a modular frame—we’re there when it counts.

Why It Matters

Industrial Equipment Moving

Transport is where the risk peaks.

Cracked pedestals, bent shafts, sheared grout, or misplaced baseplates—these aren’t just headaches. They’re budget-killers. And they usually stem from one thing: uncoordinated handoffs between the transport team and the install crew.

At Tillson, we close that gap. We don’t just stand by while your gear gets dropped on the pad. We manage the sequence, verify tolerances, and ensure mechanical integrity from lift to level.

What you prevent with us on-site:

  • Equipment damage during lift or offload
  • Improper setting or soft foot conditions
  • Pipe strain introduced during rushed tie-ins
  • Anchor bolt misalignment and rework
  • Startup delays due to loose torque or misalignment

Every misstep avoided is one more win on your safety, schedule, and performance metrics.

Who This Is For

Our equipment moving services are designed for:

  • Plant owners and EPCs needing full accountability from transport to install
  • General contractors managing compressed schedules and multiple trades
  • OEMs and equipment suppliers who want expert on-site handling for their products
  • Project managers overseeing high-stakes deliveries that cannot be redone

From greenfield facilities to brownfield turnarounds, if you’ve got heavy gear in motion, we’re your on-the-ground team for precision execution.

How We Get It Done

1. Pre-Move Planning
We coordinate with your logistics providers, crane companies, and internal teams to review lift plans, access paths, rigging points, and bolt layouts. If we’re not confident in the plan, we say so—and fix it before a truck rolls in.

2. Rigging & Offload Oversight
Our millwrights and supervisors are on-site to guide lifts, direct crane movement, verify clearances, and inspect equipment on arrival. No assumptions. No blind lifts.

3. Base Setting & Anchoring
We handle grout-ready base prep, anchor bolt layout, and shim packs or leveling devices. Once the equipment is on the pad, we verify level, square, and torque to spec.

4. Alignment & Tie-In
We laser align motors, pumps, and skids as required. Pipe fit-up support and mechanical tie-ins are handled per API 686 alignment targets and strain relief best practices.

5. Final Validation & Support
Before turnover, we recheck fasteners, alignment, and system readiness. If requested, we remain on standby during startup to address any torque checks or alignment shifts.

Types of Equipment We Move

  • Modular pump and compressor skids
  • Process fans, blowers, and air handling units
  • Motor-generator sets
  • MCCs and packaged electrical enclosures (non-electrical only)
  • Belt conveyors, frames, and support systems
  • Tanks, pedestals, and pre-assembled modules

If it weighs five tons or fifty, we have the systems and experience to place it right.

Where We Work

We support projects across:

If you’ve got equipment on a truck, we’ve got the team to set it right.

No broken baseplates. No emergency fixes. Just mechanical leadership, field precision, and zero damage from curb to commission.
